Anti-Prorogation Rally

I have a lot of opinions on prorogation. In general, I'm not supportive of the concept - whoever is in government. Of course, there is a time and place when it's appropriate, but this instance, in my opinion, wasn't. So I decided to go to the "rally" on Parliament Hill to try to get a few good photos and document the event.

A few things - I'm not the biggest fan of rallies. I find them to be full of too many angry people, angry at anything, and looking for a soapbox to stand on. This one was not short on that, with it's 9/11 deniers, communists, etc. Even some of the speakers went on rants really shouldn't have been given the mic. It was also meant to be non-partisan, but there was a heavy obviously NDP presence, which took away from the event.

Knowing all this would be the case, I went anyway, but left early, missing the various leaders who came out to speak.

Not sure about how I feel about all of the signs/dolls/speeches, but a few were good. Best one I didn't get a picture of was a kid, whose sign said: "How come I can't prorogue going to school?"

Again, enough with the words. Click on the picture for the rest of the photos, on my Flickr.
